Instincts Version 5.0
 

Day One:

On March 4 th , 2010 SSN witnessed the magnum opus inauguration of the three day annual cultural extravaganza 'INSTINCTS v.5'. with a crowd that overflowed the main auditorium, the mega budget event in association with HCL was inaugurated by the very energetic and youthful GOA team Venkat Prabhu, Premgi Amaren, and Vaibhav. The inaugural saw the trio earning repeated applause from the audience for their little dancing and singing. Vaibhav and Premgi had the audience shaking with laughter with many one-liners from their films. After the team made an exit, the stage sizzled with a variety of host performances including dance and music.

The Music club had its inauguration in the Main Stage by 'MELLISAI MANNAR' , the legendary M S VISWANATHAN . In spite of the age and health, he enthralled the crowd with his heart filling numbers. The Tamil Mandram, 'SAARAL' was inaugurated by the famous orator Thiru. SUBAVEERAPANDIYAN of ' Tamil peachu ,engal muuchu' fame.

The students had a great opportunity interacting with Hiten Gusani and Richa Gusani , from 3D India, Mumbai during the 3D Photography workshop. The whole day witnessed many events like Quiz, Light music, JAM, Elocution, DUMBC, Mono Acting, Rangoli, Junkart and many more.

The first day ended with the students dancing to the hits and remixes during the D J NITE . DJ CRAIG and DJ PETER kept the audience on their feet dancing to the tunes they played.

DAY TWO:

Day two began with a lot of enthusiasm with Airtel Super Singer Ajeesh inaugurating the Light Music Solo Prelims. He bowled over the audience by singing his famous song 'Idhuvarai'. The English literary club geared up for the day with the debate finals getting super intense. Then there was Variety entertainment that had everyone in splits. Students were enthralled with the opportunity to learn Salsa in the Dance workshop conducted by FLYERZ academy.

Once the afternoon set in the students were sent on a Treasure hunt which was a major crowd puller. While the Gamers were busy racing and firing in the Gaming chamber. VJ Paloma came up with the right quotient needed for a VJ.

The afternoon also saw the crowd spellbound with vigorous stunts performed by professional bikers ' GUTSY ROADIES' . The event was a tremendous hit. Few students got lucky to be a part of the stunt show after necessary precautions were taken. The day also saw Light music group finals, which had almost every hit number on stage.

The Tamil Mandram showcased the Cultural Heritage of Tamil culture, bringing in professional artists to perform various dances such as 'Kuthatam' and 'Karagatam'. This made the crowd exuberant with joy. The day also witnessed many events like Face Painting, Mehandi, Poster making, IPL 3, What's the good word and Tamil Isai.

The evening was perhaps the most awaited moment for all, as the stage was set to play host to Pianist Stephen Devassy and the ever energetic singer Benny Dayal . The duo churned many hit numbers from their bag, while Stephen played the keyboard that questioned our eyesight whether we were seeing things in normal speed. Benny cheered the audience with a variety of funny caps and a particular orange wig in between his songs. The pro show was sponsored by My TVS and was ticketed. The gallery was completely full with audience singing and dancing to every song.

DAY THREE:

Day three saw the presence of many legends. Short Film Making brought together the legendary director Mr.BALU MAHENDRA and South India 's pioneer in theatres and film distribution Mr. Abiraami' Ramanathan . The Main Audi was filled with ardent participants who were eager to know what their fate had to offer them. Every entry received many valuable comments from Mr. Balu Mahendra. The photography event was also judged by Mr. balu Mahendra, and along with Mr Ramanathan they distributed the prizes.

If day two had a bundle of entertainment packed inside, its successor had thought provoking concepts in life told to all in the best possible way. The Tamil Mandram's premier event, MODHIPAAR (debate) saw the best of best orators (SSN and outside participants) going neck to neck. The event had a judge whose name would pop up whenever someone talked about debate, Mr. Rajagopal aka "PATTIMANDRAM RAJA" . He took the debate to a level beyond any comparison. His reviews on the speeches were not only fun filled but also tested every one's knowledge. It was followed by the valedictory function of Tamil Mandram. The Main Auditorium recreated the scene of inauguration with an ever enthusiastic crowd that waited eagerly to catch a glimpse of one of India's famous comedian on stage, ' Padmashree' Vivekh . His speech on student life and friendship was a combination of humour and emotions that incorporated self motivation and development in all. His prescription on HOW TO WORK SMART was perhaps the best.

The afternoon saw dance enthusiasts battling out in main stage to win the title of HIP-HOP Battle. The day also saw participants getting into Creative Writing, Comic Strip, Fashion Designing, Extempore, Western Dance Solo, Instrumental Solo and Adzap. The management had arranged for police protection on all the three days. The three day extravaganza came to an end with the ever popular ' CHOREO NITE' . The event saw ten different teams setting the stage on fire with their electrifying performances. The Host performance had the whole crowd shouting for more. Choreo Nite had Mr. Guna, founder of Flyerz Dance Academy a nd Mr. Micheal a popular dancer as judges . They had the audience shouting in happiness with a few dance steps after distributing the prizes to the winners. By the end of day 3 one fact was evident 'INSTINCTS was Bigger and Better'.
